Editorial Comment

One of the most fulfilling experiences in life is the acquisition of new knowledge or skills. It is a benefit of inestimable worth and indeed a necessity for the advancement of any people, process, or discipline. Without avenues and opportunities for documentation of scientific experiences and evidence, medical science could never have evolved this far.

The African Journal of Research in Medical and Health Sciences (AJRMHS) provides a great opportunity for expression, exchange, dissemination and acquisition of information, knowledge, ideas, and techniques relevant to modern science, particularly in the medical and health sciences.

I must applaud the ingenuity of the 2021/2023 Executive Committee of the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Rivers State Government Hospitals (RSGHs) ably led by Dr. Mbak E. Ebong, in instituting the AJRMHS journal project and whose support enabled us offer waivers on article processing charge for the articles published in our maiden issue.

I celebrate the commitment, tenacity and sacrifice of the Editorial Secretary Dr. Datonye Christopher Briggs and other members of the editorial team whose efforts have brought this vision to life. Special appreciation to the experts (specialty editors and ad hoc reviewers) who undertook the review processes for the maiden articles published.

You are most welcome to engage with us as authors or reviewers. Embrace the vast horizon and explore the diversity in basic medical and clinical research and do share your findings via the AJRMHS. Motivated by our passion for excellence, we are poised to provide a friendly platform, with the aim of encouraging continuous improvement and best practices in the medical and health sector.

Please keep an eye out for upcoming issues which will cover a variety of current and highly relevant subjects.
